Internet Safety!

Parents, technology is on the rise! It's growing quick and there is nothing we can do to stop it. Our children will have more and more access to new technologies and in turn, have greater possibility of access to internet. While we can't always control or limit their access, what we can do is make sure we raise our children to be good online citizens! I would recommend keeping this list of general rules and guidelines handy and frequently reminding our children of them!

Internet Safety

• No sharing personal information! This includes names, addresses and phone numbers.
• No sharing of passwords! Your password is for your eyes (and your parents' eyes) only.
• Anything posted on the Internet stays there forever. What you write and post can be deleted but it's not gone forever. So think twice about what you do on the Internet.
• Tell your parents if something or someone online is making you feel uncomfortable in any way.
• Absolutely no cyberbulling. It's easy to hide behind a computer but it doesn't make words hurt any less.
• And last but not least, no meeting strangers or arranging to meet strangers that you encounter online. If a stranger tries to make plans to meet with you, let your parents know immediately.

With these rules firmly established, we can assure that our children will be good online citizens and that they will be safer in a world built upon and growing with technology.
